Focus and Scope
Self – Revista Instituto Junguiano de São Paulo is the scientific publication of the Instituto Junguiano de São Paulo (IJUSP), affiliated to the Associação Junguiana do Brasil (AJB) and to the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
Mission:
To disseminate and to promote the exchange of the Jungian thought, and to contribute to the development of the scientific production in the field of Analytical Psychology.
Vision:
To be a scientifically renowned publication, open to all trends and approaches in the field of Analytical Psychology, establishing itself as a legitimate democratic channel for the dissemination of the Jungian thought, in Brazil and in the world.

- To be a reference for the training of Jungian analysts.

Intended for researchers, scholars and professionals who are dedicated to the study and the application of the Jungian thought and for people interested in topics related to the field of Analytical Psychology, Self publishes original and unpublished papers in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French, from both Brazilian and foreign authors.
Manuscripts submitted to the publication undergo a double-blind peer review process, guaranteeing the scientific quality of the published texts, regardless of the currents of Jungian thought that they might represent.
The publication does not disclose translated articles from other periodicals, nor manuscripts discussing, making apology or having any partisan political allusion.
An electronic journal, Self adopts a system of continuous disclosure of works, and, honoring principle of the democratization of knowledge, provides open access to all its contents.

GOOD EDITORIAL PRACTICES
The Self journal adopts the principles of transparency and good editorial practice in academic publications by the Committee on Publications Ethics. All journal's information and practices concerning the forms of access, copyright, published content, peer review process, authors’ responsibilities, ethical issues and conflicts of interest processing are public and can be found in the Authors Guidelines.
The Editorial Board, the Editorial Staff, the Scientific Editor, Authors, Reviewers and Technical Staff must accept the terms of the Self’s editorial policy.
Access
The Self journal is published in electronic version (online) and all its content is "gold" open access, i.e. all interested parties may freely consult the published works in line with the journal's values of democratizing the access to knowledge and of encouraging the development of scientific research in the field of analytical psychology.
Copyright
The Self journal adopts the Creative Commons "Attribution 4.0 International" license, classified as a Free Culture License, which allows copying and distribution of any works published in any means or format and allows others to change, make adjustments or create derivative works for all uses, even commercial, as long as it is given proper credit to the publication. When authors submit their works to the journal, they accept the terms of this license and agree to assign the copyright of the manuscript to the publication. Along with their work, the authors must send a signed copyright assignment document (see Authors Guidelines).
Content
Self publishes original and unpublished papers in Portuguese, English or Spanish, from both Brazilian and foreign authors. Every submitted manuscript should contain title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
The publication does not disclose translated articles from other periodicals, nor manuscripts discussing, making apology or having any partisan political allusion.
Self is guided by the respect of principles related to editorial independence; therefore, all submitted papers for publication are evaluated by the Scientific Editor. In addition, original articles, review articles, essays and case studies are evaluated by Ad Hoc reviewers, in a double-blind evaluation process, ensuring that papers’ publication responds to their merit and scientific quality and not to professional, personal or financial interests.

Author's responsibility
All the authors of a manuscript should have contributed to its development and should know its content. Papers submitted to Self should be accompanied by a signed document of responsibility (see Authors Guidelines).
The opinions expressed in the articles published by Self are the sole responsibility of the authors, and do not represent the opinion of the journal or of the IJUSP.
Ethics in research
Self fully adopts the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity, whose preamble states: "The value and benefits of research are vitally dependent on the integrity of research. While there can be and are national and disciplinary differences in the way research is organized and conducted, there are also principles and professional responsibilities that are fundamental to the integrity of research wherever it is undertaken" (Singapore Statement on Research Integrity - http://www.singaporestatement.org/statement.html).
The journal also fully adopts the World Medical Association’s (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki on Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects.
Self collaborators take responsibility for exercising their activities in accordance with the ethical values defended by the two documents, ensuring that all appropriate ethical procedures were performed in any research, involving human beings or not.
Self repudiates any scientific misconduct, such as falsification and fabrication of data, plagiarism, misappropriation of ideas or data, and citation manipulation.
Any scientific misconduct complaint will be investigated, confidentially, and the necessary steps for the correction of confirmed errors will be made.
Funding sources
Authors should clearly indicate any kind of funding and/or material support from public and/or private institutions, received for the research conduction and/or for the development of the work, informing the funding institution, the type of resource obtained, the title of the funded project, the funding identifier number and other relevant data.
This information should be included on the cover sheet of the submitted work (see Authors Guidelines).
Conflicts of interest
Authors who submit papers to Self should inform the existence of potential conflicts of interest of academic, professional, political, personal or financial nature, (see Authors Guidelines).
The same advice applies to the scientific reviewers of the manuscripts, who should declare themselves ineligible to assess a work if there is a potential conflict of interest, for example, proximity with the manuscript's authors or lack of familiarity with the subject area of the work.
The members of the Editorial Board and of the Editorial Staff of the journal should also inform of possible conflicts of interest.
In case of doubts about the existence of potential conflicts of interest, authors, reviewers and editors should enquire the Scientific Editor of the journal.
Filing system
The Self journal will maintain electronic copies, in a safe environment, of: the original documents submitted for publication; the revised and published works; the reviewers’ reports; and, other documents related to the journal.
FINANCIAL RECOURSES
Self is fundeb by IJUSP and does not charge any fee from its authors at any time during the submission process.
The editorial production of articles accepted for publication is also financed by IJUSP and includes: revision of the main submission language (Portuguese or English or Spanish or French); revision of the titles, abstracts and descriptors that must be sent in the three languages of publication (Portuguese and English and Spanish); the normalization of references and citations; the standardization and layout of the manuscripts and the HTMl conversion.
