An invitation to reflect on theses that underlie the conduct of a person
Self – Revista do IJUSP publishes its newest edition, with the paper “The theses that underlie the conduct of a person”, by Alberto Pereira Lima Filho. The paper invites to a reflection on what moves people and presents “possible routes” to the path in search of individuation.
The author begins the paper by defining in detail the concept of thesis, which can be summarized as the readings of the person about the reality “as a whole” or about some aspects that due to its importance to this person “come to dwell the collection of truths of this person, his/her ways of seeing the world and the people, the way he/she sees himself/herself and, more importantly than all this, guide this person, influencing their choices, supporting their actions, investments and entrepreneurship in life.”
Next, the author draws parallels between the idea of a thesis (or several) underling the conduct of a person and the concepts of the theories Jungian and post-Jungian, highlighting that “aware of the distinctions between different perspectives within the scope of psychology (classical, developmental, archetypal), I choose to give voice to my own ideas or my reading of the ideas of the various authors, with their adherence to the specificities of each school. I do not see among them the incompatibilities that are disclosed in publications, so I allow myself to reconcile them in my reading of psychic phenomena.”
Scientific publication of the Instituto Junguiano de São Paulo (IJUSP), Self has been published since 2016, with the mission disseminating and promoting the exchange of Jungian thought and contributing to the development of scientific production in the field of analytical psychology.
