Self publishes its second volume

2017-03-09

Self – the scientific journal of the Instituto Junguiano de São Paulo (Jungian Institute of São Paulo) today, March 9, issues volume number 2, with the publication of the editorial titled "The Island", written by Ricardo Pires de Souza, scientific editor of the publication.

While reflecting critically on our current society ‒ one that is consumerist, short-sighted and seemingly mired  in an endless hedonistic delirium ‒ the text makes us see the beautiful side of our world, with its movements for change,  empowerment of minorities, and ideas such as "dignity ‒ the unique and sacred character of human life".

The author  ends by highlighting the commitment of Self and "the entire Jungian community of Brazil and the world to seek "the essence of the human being, not excluding a single one" to answer to “this apparent modern dilemma we have been living" juxtaposing, on the one hand, the "hope" of a "more loving, just and democratic future", and on the other the "violent and extremist winds spread throughout the world".

With its mission to disseminate and  promote the exchange of Jungian thinking, and to contribute to the development of the scientific production in the field ofanalytical psychology, Self continues to present itself to the world as a space for reflection, open to all trends and approaches in the field of analytical psychology, using technology for the democratization of knowledge. Just to get an idea, today we are connected to more than 6,000 people worldwide.

Therefore, we invite you to collaborate with Self by sending us papers for the different sections of the journal: original research articles, updates on literature, articles of reflection, case studies, and reviews.
